The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) has issued a total of €10.7 million in outstanding scheme payments to farmers this week.

This includes 2023 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) and Complimentary Redistributive Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS) payments worth €1.1 million.

In total, 119,396 farmers have now received BISS and CRISS payments totalling €820.4 million, according to DAFM figures published today (Friday, March 8).

This figure includes the 2023 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers payments (€29.1 million), as well as the 2023 National Reserve (€4.1 million) payments.

Scheme payments

Outstanding Suckler Carbon Efficiency Programme (SCEP) payments worth €4.95 million were issued this week. To date, 16,802 farmers have received a total of €51.54 million.

2023 Eco Scheme payments worth €2.43 million were paid out to farmers this week. This leads to a total of €300.83 million issued under the scheme to 117,413 farmers.

Payments worth €340,000 were made to farmers under the Tillage Incentive Scheme 2023 this week. In total, 2,907 farmers have received a total of €8.38 million.

Outstanding payments of €580,000 were issued under the Straw Incorporation Measure 2023. To date, a total of €15.07 million has been issued to 3,250 farmers.

Protein Aid Scheme 2023 payments worth €200,000 were issued over the past week. Total payments under the scheme now stand at €9.98 million to 1,526 farmers.

The DAFM also issued €20,000 under the Shannon Callows Flood Scheme. So far 275 farmers have been paid under the scheme, receiving a total of €750,000 in payments.

Just over €468,950 has been paid to farmers in the Organic Farming Scheme (OFS) this week. In total, 3,822 farmers have received a total of €39 million for the 2023 OFS.

A total of €16,000 was also issued by the DAFM in outstanding payments under the Green, Low-carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS) this week, according to the DAFM.

Farmers also received €120,000 in the DAFM’s latest weekly payment run of 2024 for the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) and Areas of Specific Constraint (ASC) schemes.

A total of €481,608 was also paid out under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Schemes (TAMS). Of 37,112 payment applications submitted, 36,503 payments were made.
