Just over €2 million in payments were made in the last week under the 2023 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS).
In its latest scheme payment update, for payments made up to today (Friday, March 1), the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine said that 119,296 farmers have now received a total of €819.3 million in payments under BISS and the 2023 Complimentary Income Support for Sustainability (CRISS).
Of that total payment amount, €2.06 million was made in the last seven days.
The BISS and CRISS figure also includes the 2023 Complementary Income Support for Young Farmers (CISYF) and payments from the 2023 National Reserve (a total of €28.6 million has been paid out under the former and €4 million under the latter, to date).
The department figures for the past week did not indicate any further payments under the eco-scheme for this time period.
Under the Targeted Agricultural Modernisation Scheme (TAMS), €429,642 payments made in the last week.
€370,000 in outstanding payments were also made under the Areas of Natural Constraint (ANC) Scheme.
The sum of €10,000 was paid in the last week as outstanding payment under the Green, Low-Carbon, Agri-Environment Scheme (GLAS), which was replaced by the Agri Climate Rural Environment Scheme (ACRES) under the new Common Agricultural Policy (CAP).
The 2023 Organic Farming Scheme (OFS) saw €18,684 paid out in the last seven days.
Under the OFS, 3,787 farmers have received a payment for 2023, which totaled €38.6 million (more than triple the total figure paid out in 2022).
