JCB, the machinery manufacturing specialists, has secured a £5m deal for more than 100 new JCB Loadall telescopic handlers from B&T Plant Hire in the UK.

The Loadall telescopic handlers are manufactured at JCB’s world headquarters in Staffordshire in the UK and the latest order will join over 1,500 machines in B&T Plant Hire’s range of equipment. The plant hire company has seen growth of 30% over the past three years.

San Thompstone, JCB UK and Ireland Sales Director, said that the company is delighted to have secured this important business from one of the South East of England’s biggest plant hirers. He also said that it is a huge vote of confidence in the Loadall product which is already the biggest selling telescopic handler in the world.

“B&T Plant Hire has taken delivery of a range of different Loadall models made at JCB’s Rocester plant including the new 540-200 which has an industry-leading lift height of 20 metres. This model is proving popular with customers looking for a powerful, high reach solution, notably in the hotel construction sector,” JCB says.

Tom O’Brien, B&T Plant Hire Managing Director, said the company chose JCB telehandlers for several reasons. He said that residual value and reliability are obviously important factors but equally crucial is that its customers prefer JCB. O’Brien said that the 540-200 is a good addition to the fleet, extending the maximum height capability it can offer and companies building hotels have already recognised its quality.

JCB began in 1945 by manufacturing tipping trailers. Now it has grown to having 22 plants on four continents and 750 dealers around the world.
