As part of the ‘day in the life’ of a vet series, yesterday (April 26) MSD Animal Health followed multiple veterinary practitioners of Mulcair Veterinary Clinic who are members of XLVets Ireland.

The day covered many procedures involving both large and small animals. The procedures ranged from carrying out a ruminant synthesis to examine the ruminant microflora with Niall Lysaght, to a hernia operation on a February-born Friesian heifer calf with Micheál English and Marie Louise Ryan.

During the day, practice partner, Sean Coffey also talked through their impressive new clinic which will be up and running in the summer.

Finally, the team caught up with practice partner Brian Ryan for an overview of what it’s really like to be a mixed practice veterinarian in Ireland.

Mulcair Veterinary Clinic is based in the Mulcair region of the mid-west. This practice has been a member of XLVets Ireland since its inception in 2010. Mulcair Veterinary Clinic has 11 vets, three veterinary nurses in addition to 10 support staff.
