The ‘day in the life’ series, in association with MSD Animal Health and XLVets Ireland, kicked off on Monday (April 24) with Kieran Devaney, veterinary practitioner with Ormonde Veterinary Clinic, a mixed practice in Kilkenny city.

The vet took to Instagram where he brought viewers about his busy day, which covered everything from a joint infection, synchronising heifers, blooding some cows, and looking after a sick goat.

Kieran is a native of Co. Tipperary who has been working and living in Co. Kilkenny for the past seven years, after qualifying from the University of Edinburgh in 2011.

He has an interested in all aspects of veterinary medicine, especially herd and flock health, which led him to undertake a certificate in dairy herd health at University College Dublin (UCD) in 2019.

You can watch Kieran’s busy day back through the video below for an insight into how his day went.
