The Amazone sprayer grass men are going mad for
Amazone’s UF mounted sprayers continue to be extremely popular in Ireland particularly amongst grassland farmers.
That’s according to Val McCauley of Farmhand, which distributes Amazone machinery in Ireland.
Available in capacity of up to 1,800L, McCauley says Amazone’s UF mounted sprayers are noted for having a light, yet robust frame and with a slim close coupled tank position makes them easy to carry.
He highlighted that the 1050L UF 901 is particular in demand from grassland farmers who are reseeding on a regular basis.
All Amazone’s key sprayer innovations were on display at Amazone’s recent Amatechnica event at the Amazone headquarters in Hasbergen-Gaste.
It saw around 4,000 farmers, contractors and sales partners from Germany, along with 2,000 more from 29 countries around the world, get the opportunity to take a look around the spreader and sprayer production plants as well as getting up to date with the Amazone agricultural and groundcare machinery programmes.
Amazone UF mounted sprayers key facts
- Large tank capacities: 900, 1,200, 1,500 or 1,800L. With front tank up to 2,800L.
- Extensive range of boom working widths: 12 to 28m.
- Light in weight, high in output and very operator-friendly
Due to the special design Amazone sprayer booms are noted for being very light yet at the same time very robust.
The nozzle bodies have an integrated diaphragm non-return anti-drip valves fit up into the boom profiles reliably preventing any dripping at the nozzle.
Self-adjusting bayonet fixings ensure a tool-less quick nozzle change. For any operational use and any application rate the right nozzles are available, for example, optimum wetting, anti-drift or for liquid fertiliser use.
In hilly terrain and with large working widths, hydraulic tilt adjustment can be a huge help, according to Amazone. The quick and precise tilting and return of the boom into the neutral position is possible via a tractor control valve or the electro-hydraulic function via AMATRON 3 control unit.
The standard internal tank cleaning system with rotary nozzle provides for quick and effective washing out. Smooth tank walls without nooks and crannies allow safe function and simple monitoring.
An optionally available spray lance allows the thorough external cleaning of the sprayer immediately after operation whilst still in the field. The 20m hose reel supplies a working pressure of 10 bar to enable effective cleaning with little water consumption.
Amazone says with a few connections you can quickly and safely attach the UF on to the tractor. Sufficient space between the tractor and the sprayer makes attaching easy.
With the parking wheels, the sprayer can be moved easily.
The quick coupler system and the Tele-Space PTO shaft – available on request – ensure an even faster and simpler attachment to the tractor.
All cables and hoses are arranged in a clear, functional manner to avoid any mix ups. It is now the tradition for Amazonen-Werke to hold their ‘Amatechnica’ field day about six months after Agritechnica.
Less drift at higher wind speeds
With the air-assisted injector nozzles, crop protection agents can be applied with very little drift. They are universally usable in all crops and all classifications. Because of the coarse droplet application, these nozzles can also be used in higher wind speeds.
