Lamb prices have moved on another 10c/kg this week, with prices not reaching as high as €7.50/kg as factories struggle to fill orders for Christmas.
Factories are freely paying €7.30-7.40/kg for lambs with prices up to and exceeding €7.50/kg in cases, according to Sean Dennehy.
Lamb trade: Strong market demand for lambs has pushed prices on 40c/kg with prices for lambs pushing up to as high as €7.40/kg.
The Minister for Agricuture has been called on to make amendments to the proposed Sheep Improvement Scheme (SIS) by the IFA.
Deals are being secured as high as €6.60/kg for larger lots of lambs this week the Irish Farmers' Association (IFA) has said, as prices push on once again.
Deals for lambs are topping €6.30-6.40/kg, in what has seen factories move to increase prices this week - as supplies remain tight and demand strong.
"Factories are actively seeking lambs to meet the increased demand for the Eid al-Adha festival, according to Sean Dennehy of the Irish Farmers' Association (IFA).
€8.00kg is still being secured for spring lambs, albeit to a lesser extent as to what seen a few weeks back, according to Sean Dennehy.

The sheep chairperson of the IFA, Sean Dennehy, has been appointed the new mart manager of Bandon mart in Co. Cork.
"If you can't get a good price from the factory I would be telling farmers to go to the mart with their lambs and take their chance there."
