This week is set to bring a mixture of scattered showers and sunny spells, with conditions expected to be quite mild, according to Met Eireann.

This morning, Monday, will be misty with scattered outbreaks of rain, which are forecast to become persistent over parts of Munster and Leinster.

During the day conditions are expected to become generally dry with some sunny spells developing, but staying misty in the east and south.

It is set to remain quite windy today and although quite chilly it is not likely to be as cold as over the weekend, with highest temperatures of 7 to 10 degrees in fresh to strong easterly winds.

Drying conditions are set to be poor during the early part of the week, but are likely to improve towards the latter end of the week.

Meanwhile, opportunities for spraying will be quite limited over the next few days, due to brisk winds and scattered outbreaks of rain, according to Met Eireann.

Over the coming days well drained soils are set to remain trafficable, while moderately or poorly drained soils are expected to become saturated or waterlogged during the week.

Some clear spells are forecast overnight but it is set to be mostly cloudy with scattered outbreaks of light rain or drizzle, as temperatures fall to between 4 to 7 degrees.
