Driver of 4X4 towing trailer reined in after ‘dummy’ deed
The driver of a 4X4 vehicle towing a trailer was arrested over the weekend after being stopped by members of An Garda Síochána on a motorway in the midlands, Gardaí have confirmed.
The incident occurred in Co. Laois on the M7, local Gardaí noted, when the driver was stopped for speeding.
Upon producing a “dummy licence”, Gardaí quickly established that the driver in question was in fact disqualified – promptly arresting the individual and seizing the vehicle.

“Laois Roads Policing Unit stopped a jeep towing a trailer for a speeding offence on the M7 this morning.
The driver produced a dummy licence when stopped. A quick check on the Mobility App showed the driver to be disqualified from driving.
“The vehicle was seized and the driver was arrested and charged,” the Garda post concluded.
