Roscommon Co-Operative Livestock Mart is set to host a dispersal sale on behalf of a retiring suckler farmer from Ballygar, Co. Galway.
The dispersal sale will take place at the mart venue on behalf of Thomas Nestor this Saturday, October 10, at 1:00pm.
Auctioneer Tom Cox told Agriland the sale is set to include 45 suckler cows.

Of these, 40 are first and second calved cows with calves at foot and five are in-calf cows.
All cows in the sale are running with a hybrid bull and will be scanned prior to the sale.
The mart venue hosted its weanling sale on Tuesday, October 6, with almost 700 head of weanlings on offer in the sale.
Speaking to Agriland after the sale, mart manager Tony Conroy said that the trade is remaining positive with increasing numbers of farmers moving out to buy weanlings in the sale, and exporter activity remaining good also
In the weanling bull sale, the mart manager said that prices topped out at €8.06/kg for a 310kg Charolais bull that made €2,500.
Conroy said that there were a lot of the good weanling bulls making over €7/kg in the sale.
He noted that buyers were particularly keen for the Charolais bulls, even more so than the Limousins in cases.
The mart manager added that farmers and exporter buyers were both strong in the sale, with over 150 weanling bulls going for export from the sale.
He said that overall the sentiment is good amongst sellers and buyer confidence also appears positive.
Two heifers in the sale secured over €4,000, with one making €4,100 and another making €4,040, equating to €11/kg and €13/kg respectively.
