Deutz-Fahr has added three new 4-cylinder models to its existing 6 Series, 6-cylinder range. These are the: 6155.4; 6165.4; and the 6175.4.

All models in the range now feature higher permissible weights (11.5t) and a longer wheelbase (2.543m) for “improved stability and comfort”.

The company says that design features of the 4-cylinder models are similar to those of the existing 6-cylinder versions, which were awarded the ‘Tractor of the Year for Design‘ accolade last year.

The 156hp, 164hp and 171hp Deutz TCD 4.1L, 4-cylinder engines that power these tractors comply with Stage IV emissions requirements. In addition to a “compact cooling system”, which can be “opened completely” for cleaning, the TTV (stepless) models are also equipped with a new electric Visco fan.

Three transmission variants are available. First up is the “simple”, manual 5-speed powershift transmission with six forward powershift stages and three reverse stages (30F 15R). Next up is the more recent, “fully automatic” RCshift gearbox (30F 15R or a 54F 27R creeper version). Top of the transmission pile is the stepless TTV box – for continuous driving and working from 0 to 50kph.

On all transmissions, the maximum speed is achieved at a reduced engine speed – to save fuel. On RCshift models, the top speed of 50kph is reached at a fuel-sipping 1,530 rpm.

Another key feature, according to Deutz-Fahr, is the front axle with independent suspension, which is equipped with an anti-dive and anti-rise control and a booster brake system.

The hydraulic system has also been adopted from the existing 6-cylinder models. The standard pump capacity is 84L/min on the basic models; an LS system with a capacity of 120L/min is standard on the higher-spec models, with options of 160 or 170L/min.

Up to five electro-hydraulic auxiliary control valves can be specified at the rear, and two at the front. All electronic valves can be proportionally controlled.

The position-controlled front linkage (4.11t lift capacity) is a new option for the TTV models. This 3-point hitch can be equipped with up to four hydraulic outlets and an ISOBUS interface at the front. The rear linkage can hoist up to 9.7t. Four PTO speeds at the rear (540, 540 ECO, 1,000 and 1,000 ECO) come as standard, as well as an optional 1,000 or 1,000 ECO unit at the front.

The 4-cylinder models come with a MaxiVision cab and the new InfoCentrePro. All models can be equipped with ‘Agrosky’ and are “ready for precision farming“.

In related news, Deutz-Fahr recently opened its new “state-of-the-art” factory – the so-called ‘Deutz-Fahr Land’ – in Lauingen, Germany. This is the site in which 6 Series, 7 Series and 9 Series tractors are manufactured for sale around the world.
