Amazone is now offering the Teres 300 mounted reversible plough with on-land ploughing capability in the Irish market.
The new model enables operators to quickly and easily switch between conventional in-furrow and on-land ploughing.
Amazone says this will provide better flexibility across a range of field and soil conditions.
The Teres 300 comes in both five and six-furrow configurations, and is designed for use with tractors of up to 300hp.
On-land ploughing offers advantages for tractors fitted with wider tyres or tracks.
Large tyres often have limited space in the furrow and can cause compaction by travelling over loosened soil.
By operating outside the furrow, the tyres reduce ground pressure and help preserve soil structure.
Simultaneously, water infiltration and soil aeration are improved, creating favourable conditions for root development.
Modern GPS guidance systems also support accurate and efficient operation.
Switching between in-furrow and on-land operation can be facilitated easily via the parallelogram adjustment centre in the cab.
Furrow width and front furrow settings can also be adjusted hydraulically, enabling the plough to be adapted quickly and easily to changing field conditions.
Another feature is the AutoAdapt automatic front furrow adjustment system.
This system ensures a clean match from bout to bout, even when the overall furrow width is adjusted, helping to maintain a consistent finish across the field.
A key feature of the Teres 300 Onland is the SpeedBlade plough body, which incorporates a patented extra-large front shin positioned ahead of the mouldboard.
Even at higher working speeds, the main wear point is concentrated in to the enlarged front shin rather than the main section of the slatted or solid mouldboard.
As a result, only the worn front shin typically needs to be replaced initially, helping to reduce maintenance requirements and wear costs compared with conventional plough bodies.
The Terest 300 Onland features a robust beam measuring 150x150x8.8mm, combining notable strength with a comparatively low overall weight.
The bearing-mounted ProtectShaft cross-shaft, with integrated lower-link balls, is designed for low wear and long service life.
It's pivot bearings also provide a damping effect, helping to protect the plough during headland turns and when travelling on the road.
Many ploughs require the furrow width to be reduced before turning when operating at wider working widths in order to maintain adequate ground clearance.
In contrast, the Teres is swivelled out via the front furrow cylinder before the turning process begins.
This allows the selected furrow width to be maintained while reducing wear on key plough components.
Depending on operating conditions and requirements, overload protection can be provided either mechanically via a shear bolt or hydraulically.
In the hydraulic overload protection option, the release force can be adjusted easily to suit conditions.
Once an obstacle has been passed, the plough body automatically returns to its working position.
