Teagasc has developed a series of practical events on cross compliance that will increase farmer understanding of the requirements and will provide tips and ideas on farming practices that will reduce the possibility of penalties to direct payments.

The events will cover areas such as:

  • How to use the Teagasc Cross Compliance Self-Assessment Workbook
  • What happens during a cross compliance inspection
  • What records need to be kept and how to keep them
  • Land drainage and reclamation regulations.

Events are being run across the country from 11 to 24 November. Check the table below to see what meeting is nearest to you. A specially designed workbook has been devised to help farmers assess cross compliance on their own farm.

Failure to comply with cross compliance requirements could lead to penalties being imposed on direct payments. The experience of Teagasc advisers is that farmers can make small changes on their farms to avoid costly penalties. A cross compliance inspection can be a challenging time for farmers.

Teagasc invites all farmers to attend these free cross compliance events in their local area during November.
