The overnight storms in the North and North West of the country have failed to disrupt the business of farming.
“We have had no reports of fallen trees preventing lorries getting on farm,” an Aurivo spokesperson explained.
“But if there are any farmers affected by such circumstances, obviously they should contact us as a matter of priority. Our fleet of lorries is well capable of dealing with the worst the weather can throw. For example, back in the horrendously cold spell at the end of 2010, not one farm collection was missed.”
Glanbia has, likewise, confirmed that the weather had not caused any disruption to its milk collection activities this morning. The Irish Farmers Association is confirming no disruption on farms so far.
“If there are any issues arising, farmers in the North and North West are most likely to be in the firing line,” a spokesman for the organisation confirmed.
