Met Éireann said the weekend be cloudy overall with rain and drizzle at times mainly in the north and west.
The national forecaster said conditions will be drier and warmer in southern and eastern parts of the country.
This morning (Friday, July 3), will begin dry with sunny spells, before turning cloudier with patches of light rain and drizzle spreading from the west.
The south-east will stay dry and have the best of any sunny spells.
Highest daytime temperatures ranging from 16°C in the north-west to 22°C in the south-east in light to moderate south-west breezes.
Mainly cloudy tonight with light rain, drizzle, mist and hill fog mainly in the north and west. It will be drier in the southeast.
A mild and humid night with temperatures ranging from 13° to 16° in moderate southwest winds.
Saturday will be mostly cloudy and dry, but patchy light rain, drizzle and mist will continue to mainly affect Connacht and Ulster.
Bright or sunny spells will develop in the south and southeast.

The current outlook shows that high pressure will continue to dominate our weather for the rest of the week bringing warm and settled conditions.
Met Éireann said that the coming week will be drier than normal for in many parts of the country.
Rainfall amounts will be closer to normal in western and northern parts of Connacht and Ulster, but could be above average in the far northwest.
Average temperatures will be closer to normal generally, but will be around 2° above normal in parts of the south, east and north-east.
Soil temperatures are well above normal in most places, with mean values ranging 16.4° to 20.3°.
During the weekend and early next week, drying conditions will be generally poor in the north and north-west in particular, better conditions are expected in parts of the south and east.
There will be good opportunities for spraying for a time today, before becoming more limited later on, especially across parts of the west and north.
Spraying opportunities will be limited on Saturday but will improve again on Sunday away from the north and north-west.
Met Éireann said weather conditions conducive to the spread of potato blight are expected in Ulster, Connacht and some western coastal parts of Munster from tonight until Monday afternoon.
