An Irish food showroom is expected to open in China giving Irish suppliers a direct route to the Chinese market.

The venture promises to give clients an all-year round opportunity to display their produce to Chinese distributors, wholesalers and retailers.

The venture’s Chinese backers are expected to meet Bord Bia soon. The project is part of a Shanghai Government initiative to facilitate easier movement of imported goods.

The showroom will be located in the Waigaoqiao Free Trade Zone in Shanghai.
