Greybridge Classic Club to celebrate John Deere
A Limerick based vintage club are holding their popular tractor lineout event to help celebrate John Deere’s 50 year anniversary in the UK and Ireland.
The Harvest Day is scheduled for Sunday, August 7, with the event being in aid of Cliona’s Foundation, St. Joseph’s Foundation and Breast Services University Hospital Limerick.
It will take place in Dempsey’s Cross, Meanus Co. Limerick with the Deere Logo already having been measured and cut this week.
Previous years have involved different types of lineouts, such as the Massey Ferguson and Ford logo’s. This year club plans to line out the tractors to read the words underneath the John Deere logo.
In 2014 the club held a lineout spelling TRACTORS, with each letter compiled of a different tractor manufacturer.
In addition to the John Deere lineout this year’s event will also feature:
- Static Displays of John Deere Agricultural and Construction Machinery.
- John Deere Harvest and Baling Display.
- Massive John Deere Merchandise Raffle.
- Selection of Vintage Car and Tractor Displays.
- Displays from RSA and Emergency Services.
- Free face painting, bouncy castles and lots more fun and games for all the family.
“We run a number of events through the year which contributes to the running of the event, so everything that is raised on the day can then go to the charities which we select each year, so far we have managed to give over €120,000 to various charities,” said club PRO Cora Harty.
The organisers are delighted to get the support of John Deere who are sponsoring merchandise to raffle on the day, and also Geary’s Garage their local John Deere dealer.
If you would like to register for the lineout or any of the displays visit the Greybridge Classic Club website for more information.
All other vintage cars and tractors are welcome for the vintage display on the day.
