The countdown to the 2026 Ploughing Championships is almost over, with three action-packed days promising nail-biting excitement, entertainment - and, fingers crossed, some sunshine.

Agriland Media Group is once again the proud livestream media partner of the National Ploughing Association (NPA) and will stream on all three days of the Ploughing from 12noon to 3:00p.m.

This is the 10th anniversary of Agriland's award-winning live stream coverage of Ploughing and we're more than a little excited.

Our cameras will be rollling live from Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly, as the National Ploughing Championships gets underway.

We will have three days of packed broadcasts, key themes, and a rotating cast of farmers, panellists, politicians, and presenters — so you will not miss a minute of this year's event.

There will be in-depth interviews with farming leaders and we'll be keeping a very close eye on the highly competitive ploughing fields as old friends and rivals battle it out for a 2026 title.

Day 1 - Tuesday: The state of Irish farming

Tuesday's livestream is going to focus on 'The state of Irish farming - what's next?'

We'll start off by chatting to ploughing veterans, take a look at the action in the competition and then move to the serious issue of the pressures in tillage at this time.

We'll also be out and about across the entire Ploughing site - looking at what's happening, what not to miss and then coming back to our stand to see how a group of students have brought a vintage Porsche tractor back to life.

The Ploughing Championships are always a key date in the political calendar, giving leaders a chance to make their voices heard.

With Budget 2027 just around the corner, this year is no different and we’ll be hearing from political leaders on the issues that matter most to farmers and rural Ireland.

We will also make sure there's room for fun too during our livestreams - Declan Flanagan will be aiming to bring jiving to some beginners and we will be out and about to check out the latest machinery, livestock news, food and entertainment.

Farm safety

Agriland will put farm safety firmly in the spotlight with a dedicated Farm Safety panel, bringing together experts from Teagasc, the Health and Safety Authority (HSA), Gas Networks Ireland (GNI) and ESB Networks.

They’ll tackle some of the biggest risks facing farmers every day, from machinery and livestock to working alone and preventing accidents.

It’s an important conversation, with practical advice on the steps farmers can take to keep themselves, their families and those working on the farm safe.

In the final hour on Tuesday from 2:00p.m to 3:00p.m we will host a special edition of our Groundbreakers: Women in Ag podcast to hear about the challenges and opportunities for women in agriculture in 2026.

Day 2 - Wednesday: The future of livestock and the family farm

Wednesday shifts the theme to livestock and the family farm and we'll continue to keep a close eye on the ploughing fields to spot emerging champions.

There will also be a special Beef Brief live podcast on the state of the sector, bringing together voices from the Irish Cattle and Sheep Farmers' Association (ICSA), Tullow Mart and Dawn Meats.

And of course we'll be keeping a close eye on Certified Irish Angus at the National Ploughing Championships on Wednesday, as this year's finalist school groups are announced and officially presented with their Angus calves.

Hour two from 1:00pm to 2:00p.m on Wednesday turns to dairying, with an award-winning farmer for a Dairy Trail segment.

We will also bring you a behind-the-scenes look at what actually happens at the Ploughing, and a Tip Top Farmers slot on food and fitness with HSE dietician Geraldine Sexton and Laura Tully of Fit Farmers.

Irish Natura and Hill Farmers' Association (INHFA) members and MEP Maria Walsh then join the live stream for a segment on the next generation of farmers.

The final hour is one of the day's busiest: The Fodder Question, live with presenter Aisling O'Brien alongside Joe Patton of Teagasc and Tirlán's Bryan Harte.

It will also include a charity-driven Tractor Kids segment revisiting the TY students' Porsche tractor project; an ABP kids slot; and a look at Bord Bia's work with Jim O'Toole, before the livestream concludes for the day.

However, we will continue to bring you all the action from Ploughing across our social networks even after we finish the live stream, so stay tuned.

Day 3 - Thursday: Young farmers, energy and all the highlights

Thursday opens with the Agriland livestream's youngest voices: junior ploughing competitors and a next generation of farmers conversation with Macra president, Josephine O'Neill and Anne Marie Feighery of Feighery's Farm.

A Farm to Fork segment with Tom Cronin, director of Our Food Roots, explores the food chain, before an energy panel — Powering the Farm — brings in Gas Networks Ireland, the ESB and Seán Finan to talk challenges and opportunities.

Hour two of the live stream on Thursday goes national and political 'From Roscommon to Brussels' - a live conversation with Michael Fitzmaurice TD and MEP Ciaran Mullooly on the big issues of the day.

The political mood will then be offset by Declan's line dancing back on stage.

We will have a live family segment with Richard Walsh, voices from the Food Village, and a Farm Finance panel with Bank of Ireland and Teagasc's Klara McGriskin to close out the hour.

The final hour is the week's send-off: a machinery catch-up, an NPA roundup of 2026 with Anna Marie McHugh, and Champions' Corner, spotlighting award-winning dairy, beef and tillage farmers with real-world advice.
