Child safety wristbands set to return at Ploughing
The child safety wristband initiative is set to return as an important feature at this year's National Ploughing Championships.
The National Ploughing Association (NPA) and FBD Insurance are once again joining forces to deliver the 'Keeping You Safe' Child Safety Wristband Initiative.
Over 40,000 child safety wristbands will be available free of charge at event entrances.

The wristbands provide space for a parent or guardian to write a contact phone number, helping children to be reunited with their families should they become separated during the event.
Anna May McHugh, managing sirector of the NPA, said: "Over the years, the 'Keeping You Safe' wristbands have become a trusted part of the National Ploughing Championships, giving parents and guardians extra peace of mind while they enjoy their day".
"With hundreds of thousands of visitors expected over the three days, it's easy for children to become distracted by everything there is to see and do.
"These wristbands provide a simple but effective way of helping families reunite if they become separated, allowing everyone to relax and make the most of the Ploughing Championships," she said.
Tomás Ó Midheach, FBD Insurance chief executive officer (CEO), added: "The National Ploughing Championships is a fantastic family occasion and one of the highlights of the farming calendar.
"At FBD, we’re proud to continue supporting the Child Safety Wristband initiative.
"It is a simple but important way of helping families explore and enjoy everything ‘the Ploughing’ has to offer with greater peace of mind.
"We hope every child visiting Ploughing 2026 wears an FBD wristband and enjoys a fun, memorable and safe experience."
The 95th National Ploughing Championships will take place in Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly from 15-17 of September.
All children under 12 will be admitted free of charge to the site, once they are accompanied by an adult.
