The trade was a little easier for plainer cattle in Kilkenny Mart yesterday (Thursday), according to the Mart Auctioneer George Candler.

Candler said that there was a large number of cattle on offer, but the trade was weaker as many buyers in the South East are still waiting on grass to grow.

He also said that the poor weather forecast for this weekend impacted on the trade and as a result it may take a week or two for prices to recover.
