Arrabawn has become the latest processor to set its price for September milk supplies, announcing a 1c/L increase on its August price.

This brings its September price up to 37c/L including VAT, meaning good news for its suppliers.

This is the fifth consecutive increase for Arrabawn, which has previously given increases for August, July, June and May milk supplies.

Last week, Aurivo also announced an increase of 0.5c/L, bringing its price up to 37c/L including VAT for September, with its manufacturing milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

When announcing the price, Aurivo voiced caution on the milk price outlook however, stating: “Butter prices are declining on the back of slowing consumer demand for higher-priced products, milk supply is growing worldwide and there is the continued market overhang of 405,000t of SMP (skimmed milk powder) in intervention.”

This follows on from the news that both Kerry Group and Dairygold have announced their decisions to hold their September milk prices.

This decision means that Kerry Group’s suppliers will receive a base price of 36c/L including VAT for milk manufactured in the ninth month of this year. Dairygold suppliers will receive a base price of 36c/L – which includes a 0.5c/L quality bonus and VAT.

Glanbia Ireland decided to hold its milk price at at 35c/L including VAT for last month’s supplies. Its price is based on manufacturing milk supplies at 3.6% butterfat and 3.3% protein.

Meanwhile, Lakeland Dairies decided to increase its price; it will pay a 1c/L butter bonus for all milk supplied – including all fixed-price contracts.

This takes the Lakeland Dairies payment to a gross 36.5c/L including VAT – a 1.22c/L increase in total.
