Investigations are ongoing by members of An Garda Síochána following the discovery of the bodies of two elderly men on a farm in Co. Cork – with Gardaí urgently looking for a red Toyota Corolla.

In a short statement on the matter, a spokesperson for An Garda Síochána said:

“Gardaí are currently at the scene of an incident at a domestic premises outside of Mitchelstown, Co. Cork, following the discovery of the bodies of two elderly men.

Gardaí are continuing to trace the whereabouts of a red Toyota Corolla van, registration 03-WW-1556.

“Any members of the public with information are asked to call 999 immediately. Do not approach this vehicle,” the spokesperson added.

The Irish Times reports that the two dead men are brothers – with Gardaí searching for a third brother who is believed to be the registered owner of the farm.

The Armed Support Unit was apparently called in due to Garda fears that one or more men had a gun, the report notes.
