“A Dairy-ing” Recipe Inspired by Glenisk
The organisers of the Blog Awards 2013 have partnered with the renowned Irish family business Glenisk to create a recipe competition which will be blogged all over the world. Sponsors of the Best Food/Drink blog category at this year’s Blog Awards Ireland, Glenisk has partnered with the awards to give people in Carlow the chance to enter a separate recipe competition.
Vincent Cleary, Managing Director with Glenisk said, “Glenisk is delighted to once again partner with the Blog Awards Ireland. As well as sponsoring the Food and Drinks Category Award, we are inviting all bloggers to showcase their culinary and photography skills by submitting a recipe and accompanying photo. The Blog Awards Ireland is a terrific showcase of Irish blogging talent reflecting Ireland’s unique heritage of storytelling in a way that utilises the best of new media.”
Entrants are asked to create their own recipe which must include a Glenisk ingredient. Your blog does not have to be a food blog to enter. A full list of sweet and savoury options can be found here http://www.glenisk.com/recipes/UpFront-and-Personal-Recipes/.
Submit your entry with your email address and a link to your blog post via the online form at http://www.blogawardsireland.com/glenisk-recipe-competition/
Your recipe must include the full list of ingredients, method and at least one image. You could have some fun creating and including a Vine video too if you like (optional).
Lorna Sixsmith, Irish Farmerette Agriland contributor and co-organiser of the Blog Awards Ireland, said: “As a farming blogger and social media consultant, I love to see farmers and foodies blogging about the quality of Irish food and how it is produced as well as baked and cooked. The power of blogging and the production of recipes, such as in this competition, is one means of showcasing Irish food to a global audience.”
The closing date for the Glenisk competition is 4th September. All entries will be judged and the ten finalists will be announced on 29th September. All ten finalists will receive a free ticket to the awards and a prize on the night. The Blog Awards Ireland 2013 Recipe Winner will receive an overnight stay at Cloughjordan House and an opportunity to cook with Chef Sarah Baker at Cloughjordan House Cookery School. Second and third prizes winners will receive a €100 voucher for Kitchen Compliments. The other seven finalists will each receive €50 Kitchen Compliments vouchers.
