The weekend weather forecast indicates that conditions will be a little mixed overall with spells of rain at times, some breezy winds but it will also be a touch milder too.
According to Met Éireann, today (Friday, October 9) will start as a dull, damp and rather wet morning as a band of rain sinks further south across Leinster and Munster.
Brighter and much fresher conditions will follow however they will be accompanied by a mix of sunshine and scattered showers along with a brisk westerly breeze.
Highest temperatures of 11°C to 14° are also forecast.
Tonight will be a little breezy with a mix of clear spells and isolated showers but much of the east and south will remain dry.
Lowest overnight temperatures will range from 8° to 11°.
The national forecaster has said tomorrow, Saturday, will be another breezy day with north-westerly winds persisting.
Overall it will be a mix of sunshine and just isolated showers but with more dry weather following through into the evening and highest temperatures of 11° to 15°.
Saturday night is expected to be cloudy and cool across much of the country with just some light rain across Connacht and Ulster.
It should be mostly dry elsewhere but rain will push in across southern counties overnight.
There will be light winds generally and lowest temperatures of 3° to 7°.Sunday is forecast to be a rather unsettled day overall with overcast skies and a spell of rain moving in across Munster and south Leinster.
Light southerly breezes will become fresh south-easterly with highs of 12° to 16°.
More cloud builds later in the day with rain becoming widespread through Sunday evening.Sunday night is due to be cloudy with outbreaks of rain gradually becoming patchy later in the night.
It will be rather damp overnight with plenty of cloud and some mist patches forming too. There will also be southerly winds which will be fresh at times and lowest temperatures of 7° to 12°.
Monday looks like it will be cloudy, wet and a little blustery overall with rain moving over during the morning with showers following for the afternoon.
There may be very limited bright spells with southerly breezes and highest temperatures of 16° to 19°.The current indications for Tuesday would suggest the unsettled weather will remain with spells of rain which will be heavy at times together with some blustery southerly winds too.
Some light soils are trafficable at the moment.
However, poorly drained soils are generally saturated or waterlogged and some moderately drained soils in the midlands and west are saturated.
Due to rain and showers this week, field conditions are forecast to deteriorate in the next seven days with soils becoming saturated or waterlogged.
