The coming week will start fairly dry but it will turn somewhat more unsettled in patches from around Wednesday.

Today (Monday, March 1) will see frost and fog gradually clear in the morning and many areas will enjoy sunny spells, although it will remain cloudier across southern coastal counties. Highest temperatures will be 8° to 12° in light to moderate easterly breezes.

Tonight will be cold, dry and mostly clear, in light to moderate easterly breezes. Lowest temperatures will be -2° to + 2°, coolest in the midlands, with some frost developing, along with mist and fog patches.

Tomorrow (Tuesday, March 2) will be dry with spells of sunshine, though becoming cloudier from the south through the afternoon.

It will be coolest in Ulster and along eastern coastal counties tomorrow, with highest temperatures of 7° to 12°, in light to moderate easterly or variable breezes, fresh at times on southern coasts.

Tuesday night will be generally dry under broken cloud with just the slight risk of some light showers in the southeast by morning. Localised frost will occur where skies stay clear, along with some mist and fog patches.

Lowest temperatures Tuesday night will be -1° to + 3°, holding milder along the southern coast, in light easterly or variable breezes.

Wednesday (March 3) will see some stray showers possible across Leinster and east Munster, though most other areas will stay dry and mostly cloudy, with occasional sunny spells. Highest temperatures will be 7° to 12°, coolest for north and northeast counties, in light north to northeast breezes.

Wednesday night will be dry and mostly cloudy with just occasional clear spells. However, there is a risk of patchy frost and fog. Lowest temperatures will be 1° to  4° in light northerly breezes.

Thursday (March 4) will be a duller and cooler day overall. It will be mostly dry, though isolated patches of drizzle may occur along the coast. Highest temperatures will be 5° to 8°, in mostly light easterly breezes.

Thursday night will be mostly cloudy in the southwest with some patchy rain or drizzle at times. It will be dry, with occasional clear spells elsewhere with patchy frost possible in sheltered spots. Lowest temperatures will be 1° to 4°, in light easterly breezes.

Friday (March 5) will be mostly cloudy with patchy rain and drizzle at times in Munster. Highest temperatures will be 5° to 9° in light southeasterly breezes.
