Kildare County Council's Fire Service has confirmed it was called out to a hayfield fire in Tomard, Athy, Co. Kildare this weekend.
The fire service told Agriland that it attended the field fire on Saturday (July 11).
It added: "Appliances from Athy and Stradbally (Laois Fire Service) were on scene from approximately 3:00pm to 5:15p.m.
"The fire service used a combination of beaters, backpack sprayers and hose lines to extinguish the fire."
It added that there is no indication as to the cause of the fire.

Rural England also experienced a fire incident over the weekend.
A number of local farmers from a community in Berkshire mobilised yesterday (Sunday, July 12) to help emergency fire crews halt the spread of a massive grass fire.
Cambridgeshire Fire and Rescue Service confirmed that at 6:08p.m yesterday, crews from Gamlingay, Huntingdon, St. Neots, Chatteris, Ramsey’s water carrier and Cambridgeshire’s 4x4 vehicle along with Potton, Kempston and Sandy (Bedfordshire Fire and Rescue Service) were called to a fire in the open off Tetworth Hall Estate Road.
Firefighters arrived to find a fire affecting grass, trees and hedgerows which was spreading quickly.
Met Éireann has said the very warm or hot conditions will continue this week with daytime temperatures reaching the mid to high 20s.
The national forecaster said it will be mainly dry and sunny but there will be a risk of showers and thunderstorms developing in parts of the country.
A Status Yellow high temperature warning has been issued for counties Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Galway and Mayo.
Maximum temperatures in excess of 27° are expected, along with night-time temperatures over 15°.
The warning will be valid from 1:00p.m today (Monday, July 13) until 7:00a.m on Wednesday (July 15).
The conditions will make sleeping uncomfortable and bring a risk of heat stress in people and animals, forest fires and drought.
