Using science-backed strategies to reduce risks and boost crop yields

As farmers struggle with ever-decreasing chemical options, increasing environmental pressures, and ever-present financial challenges, the expanded science-based offering at the Nova Q tent (Stand 120, Block 3, Row 5) will be a valuable stop for tillage and livestock farmers in Tullamore next week.

In their 14th year at the National Ploughing Championships (NPC), Nova Q will showcase its latest bacteria-based and foliar nutrient solutions, offering practical, science-backed strategies to reduce risk, provide consistent yields, and deliver results in every farming situation.

Nova Q, along with network partners in the UK, Canada, the US and Germany, has been developing ways to maximise crop performance while reducing environmental and financial risks.

Understanding soil health and its needs is central to Nova Q’s agricultural solutions.

This leads to an understanding of crop requirements and deficiencies, enabling targeted nutrient applications for optimal performance and ensuring the crop receives exactly what it needs, precisely when it needs it most.

This approach ensures consistent growth and yields, even during extreme weather conditions in Ireland, particularly in recent years.

Nova-Q’s innovative crop management combines beneficial bacteria for seed, soil, and foliar applications, with specialist foliar nutrients from Nutrel Products and Levity Crop Science, creating a strong, multi-staged strategy.

This method not only strengthens plants from the root system up but also improves their ability to absorb and use essential nutrients efficiently.

The outcome is again, healthier crops, more reliable growth, and increased yield predictability, giving farmers greater confidence and security each season.

Also on display will be the long-standing biological solutions for slurries, manures, and composting, which have been successfully applied by Irish farmers for over 10 years, helping to reduce emissions and application costs, and making nutrients more available in the soil.

At the NPC, attendees will be able to see firsthand how Nova-Q’s solutions are designed for all types of farming, from small family farms to large commercial enterprises, across grassland, tillage, horticulture, and amenity.

The team will demonstrate how the products can be easily integrated into existing crop management plans, offering practical solutions tailored to each farm’s unique requirements.

The event offers a unique opportunity for farmers to engage with Nova Q’s team of researchers and agronomists, learn about the science behind their solutions, and receive practical advice on application.

Joining Nova Q on the stand will be Nigel Lyster, a crop nutrition expert from UK-based Levity Crop Science who will offer practical guidance and demonstrate Levity’s intricate technologies and modes of action.

Nova Q’s stand will be located at Block 3, Row 5, Stand 120.
