The recent Tinahely Agricultural Show which took place in Ballinacor, Co. Wicklow, was opened by Wicklow native, Taoiseach Simon Harris.

Taoiseach Harris has represented Wicklow since 2011 and has attended the show many times, so it was with pride that the Tinahely Show committee welcomed him back in his capacity as Taoiseach.

The exhibition was opened by the chief executive of Wicklow county council, Emer O’Gorman, who commented on the strong sense of community and enthusiasm witnessed at the event.

There were over 200 trade stands featuring some exciting new arrivals, such as Grassmen, O’Neills and many returning favourites.

This year also saw the introduction of some new sustainability initiatives as part of a longer-term sustainability programme to make the Tinahely Show the most sustainable show in the country.

Initiatives included recycling bins, a water refill truck, waterless urinals and biodegradable bin liners.
