The weather for the week ahead will be showery with frost towards the end of the week, Met Eireann says.

There will be clear spells tonight (Monday) with scattered showers mainly affecting parts of the north and west with some of theses showers turning wintry as temperatures will fall between -2 and +2 degrees, Met Eireann says.

It says that winds tonight (Monday) will be light to moderate in strength.

Tomorrow Tuesday will be similar to Monday; it will be cool and bright with scattered heavy showers, however, it will be slightly milder with highs of 8 to 12 degrees, it says. West to southwest winds will be moderate to fresh on Tuesday, Met Eireann says.

Looking to Wednesday, early morning rain will clear and it will brighten for a time however, it says that heavy showers will break through the morning. Met Eireann says that heavy showers will break through the morning and will become widespread during the afternoon and evening time.

There will be highest temperatures of 10 to 11 degrees on Wednesday in blustery westerly winds, Met Eireann says.

Thursday will be a bright day with with good sunshine and a good deal of dry weather, however showers will break out in the afternoon but they will be well scattered, it says.

There will be highest temperatures of 9 to 12 degrees in northerly breezes and Thursday night will be cold and clear with a widespread frost, Met Eireann says.

On Friday, Met Eireanns says it will be generally dry and sunny with the occasional shower and there will be highest temperatures of 10 or 11 degrees in light breezes.

Looking to the weekend Saturday will be dry however rain will spread northwards later in the evening or overnight, it says. There will be a change on Sunday to sunshine and showers with highest temperatures around 16 degrees, Met Eireann says.
