Farmers, breeders, families and young photographers across the country were invited to submit their best photographs of their Herefords for the competition.

As well as the chance to feature in the 2027 Hereford Calendar, entrants had the opportunity to share in the €1,700 prize pool, and raise funds for a very special cause.

On social media, the Irish Hereford Breed Society said: “Well done to the photographers who sent in these fantastic photos for the 2026 charity calendar photo competition.”

Make-A-Wish

The 2026 competition marks the beginning of a new charity partnership with Make-A-Wish Ireland, with all proceeds from the sale of the 2027 Hereford Calendar going to the charity.

Make-A-Wish grants wishes to children living with critical medical conditions, "bringing hope, joy and lasting memories to children and their families".

Since 1992, the charity has granted more than 3,600 wishes in Ireland, including 229 wishes in 2025.

The charity receives no government funding and relies on fundraising and the support of individuals, communities, and corporate partners to continue granting wishes to children across Ireland.
