Some 60,000 people are expected to attend this year’s Tullamore Show and AIB Livestock Show, which will take place on Sunday, August 14.

The Minister for Agriculture, Michael Creed officially launched the country’s premier one-day agricultural show in Dublin yesterday.

Highlighting the fact that 2016 marks the 25th anniversary since the Show’s revival, the Minister said that the Tullamore Show and AIB National Livestock Show, illustrates how integral the agriculture sector in general.

He also said how it shows how integral the family farm in particular, is to local and rural communities, representing a key driver to the financial well-being of local economies.

“I would like to congratulate the organisers and volunteers who make it such a successful occasion.”

Also in attendance at the launch were the shows main sponsor, AIB, which was represented by Robert Mulhall Head of Retail, Corporate and Business Banking. He was joined by Rodney Cox Chairman Tullamore Show, Freda Kinnarney Secretary Tullamore Show and Christy Maye, PRO Tullamore Show.
