Over 1,200 TAMS tranche 10 applications still in progress - DAFM
Over half of applications made under tranche 10 of the Targeted Agriculture Modernisation Schemes (TAMS 3) have now been approved.
The latest data from Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine (DAFM) shows that of 4,081 out of a total 7,905 applications in this round have been given the green light.
A further 1,220 applications are deemed to still be "in progress".
TAMS
TAMS 3 provides grants to farmers to build and/or improve a specified range of farm buildings and equipment on their holding.
Due to the level of demand from farmers for TAMS 3, Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Martin Heydon previously announced that ranking and selection (RASS) would be applied because of "overall budgetary constraints".
The data shows that 5,301 applications have been selected under RASS for tranche 10.
In acknowledgement of the huge importance of farm safetym, 100% of eligible applications under the farm safety scheme will be selected.

The department has also confirmed that 4,095 (67%) out of 6,122 applications submitted under tranche 9 of TAMS 3 have been approved.
4,468 applications in this tranche have been selected through RASS, with 373 applications still to be processed.
4,848 (90%) applications have been approved from the 5,364 applications made under tranche 8.
There were 5,070 applications selected through RASS, while a further 76 are "in progress".
Payments
The latest payments data from DAFM shows there was over €2.7 million issued to farmers for TAMS 3 last week.
Under TAMS 3, 48,616 approvals have been issued to date, with 20,912 payment applications submitted and 18,236 total payments made.
TAMS 3 total payments now amount to over €166.9 million.
