Over 1 million copies of Farming Simulator 17 sold in less than a month
Over one million copies of Farming Simulator 17 were sold in less than a month after the game being released, according to Focus Home Interactive.
The game, which was developed by Giants Software, was released on October 25 on PC, PlayStation 4 and Xbox One.
The latest release dwarfed the sales figures of the 2015 edition of the game at launch, which has since sold over three million copies in two years.
Meanwhile, figures also show that the game has sold over 220,000 digital copies on the gaming platform Steam and has a positive user rating of over 90%.
Reaching one million players in such a short amount of time is simply amazing, the Creative Director at Giants Software, Thomas Frey, said.
“It makes us very happy to see that Farming Simulator 17 is being received so well after all the work we’ve put in the game and the additional people we brought on board to make our largest project ever come to life.”
Publisher Focus Home Interactive fully supports the vision of the software developers to create a game that lives up to the fans expectations, he said.
The latest edition of the game has already left existing fans impressed by the improvements and content, the President of Focus Home Interactive Cédric Lagarrigue said.
Farming Simulator was always a game for fans, but with Farming Simulator 17 it has expanded into a whole new experience for a wide audience, who needed to be offered new things in video games.
“As for newcomers to the series, they discover a really addictive and rewarding title, sharing some similarities in the games’ mechanics between Farming Simulator and other genre reference.
“Giants Software has done an exceptional job with Farming Simulator 17, and we are very proud to have collaborated with them for five years now,” he added.
