Met Éireann has said that an area of high pressure centred on the north of the country will bring mostly dry, calm and settled weather next week.
It will be dry today (Friday, October 30) across the eastern half of the country with some sunny spells, though it will be cloudier elsewhere with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle gradually moving in across Atlantic counties.
It will be relatively mild, with highest temperatures of 13° to 16°, in moderate to fresh south-east winds, strong and gusty for a time along northern coasts.
Tonight will bring further rain and drizzle to Atlantic counties, while remaining dry elsewhere with clear spells. Some mist and fog patches will develop too.
Lowest temperatures will be 6° to 12°, coolest across the south and east, in just light southerly or variable breezes.
Scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle will linger for a time across Atlantic counties into tomorrow (Saturday, October 31) but will become patchy in nature with some late sunny spells developing across the north-west.
It will be dry with sunny spells across much of the midlands, south and east. However, damp and misty conditions may develop in the evening hours. Highest temperatures will be 12° to 15° in just light south-east or variable winds.
Tomorrow night, patchy drizzle will affect parts of the midlands, south and east. However, amounts will be minimal with most of the country staying largely dry.
Lowest temperatures will be 2° to 9°, coolest across the north and west under clearing skies. Mist and fog will develop in places too, in just light variable breezes.
On Sunday (November 1), patchy drizzle will affect parts of the midlands, south and east early on. Some mist and fog in parts to begin too.
However, overall it will be dry with sunny spells. It will also be cool, with afternoon highs of 10° to 13° in a light northerly breeze.
Monday (November 2) and Tuesday (November 3) will be similar days, with sunny spells and just light easterly breezes.
The odd spot of drizzle will show up across southern and eastern counties though. Highest temperatures are expected to be 10° to 13°.
Met Éireann said it is forecasting little change after that: cool by day and rather cold by night; and dry except for some patchy drizzle across eastern counties.
Some mist and fog may linger into the mornings in the east.
