The Winner of Agriland’s Farm Free competition has been announced as Dairy Farmer Michael Harlin from Co Meath.
At last years, National Ploughing Championships Agriland teamed up with some of the best-known agricultural brands and manufacturers for what we believed was the largest ever farming giveaway in the country.
Recognising the difficult trading conditions which farmers throughout the country have been operating in recent times, Agriland, Irelands largest farming news portal and our competition partners gave away an unprecedented collection of prizes including a host of farming essentials.
The lucky winner is lucky enough to be taking home:
- A Massey Ferguson 5610 tractor*
- A Lely Splendimo 280 Mower*
- €1,000 of MSD Animal Health products
- 10 Tonnes YaraBela Nutri Booster Fertilizer and 10 Broad Spectrum Soil or Leaf Analyses
- Up to €7,000 worth of Gain Animal Feed*
- Farm enterprise consultancy and planning advice from Farrelly and Scully
- Farm accounts and grassland management software from Agrinet
Commenting following the announcement as the competition winner Harlin from Kilmessan in Co. Meath said that he was thrilled with the win.
“It came as a huge shock when I got the call and it’s a real boost considering the milk price this year,” he said.
Harlin is a dairy farmer milking 130 cows on 72ha. He milks more or less all year round with 80% of his herd calving in the spring and in the 20% autumn.
Commenting on the success of the competition Agriland Managing Director, Cormac Farrelly noted the unprecedented level of interest.
“We were blown away with the number of entries to our competition with several thousand loyal Agriland readers taking part over the course of the competition.
“We are delighted to give Michael these amazing prizes and would like to take the opportunity to thank each one of the sponsors individually for their support.
“The concept behind the competition was to offer support to the winner in these challenging times for all farmers and in Michael, we have drawn a very worthy winner,” he said.
