For those tractor maniacs who haven’t been keeping up to date with Ireland’s group opponents in the upcoming 2016 Euro finals in France, we compare each team the lads in green will face to a tractor make to make it a bit easier for you to see what we’re up against in the coming days.

1. Belgium

mccormick

Just like the McCormick, Belgium is relatively new on the scene. They are now highly regarded for a team that hasn’t been around for too long. The stage has been set for them this summer and they can really create a good fan base given that their performances are up to scratch.

2. Ireland

ZETOR-MAJOR-80

Ireland can be easily comparable to today’s Zetor. Once a popular and reliable team, many would say this group has nothing on their peers of the 80’s and 90’s. Capable of beating the best team in the world ( Germany 2015) but losing against Belarus (2016).

3. Italy

New Holland

Ahh, good old Italy. The New Holland springs to mind when I hear Italy being mentioned. Like the tractor make, the team can be so capable when it comes down to the wire, often pulling results out of the bag where needed from ordinary performances.

At the end of the day, Italy cannot be written off from success due to the quality in their ranks

4. Sweden

Valtra

Never recognised as being the best, despite having quality in the side, Sweden and the Valtra fit into the same boat.

The Valtra pulling power and Sweden’s Zlatan Ibrahimovic are very alike. Zlatan always seems to be carrying his country with his individual genius and if this magician can’t be stopped this summer, Sweden could find themselves in a great position to qualify for the next round.
