Kverneland is developing a new generation of mounted reversible ploughs. The company capitalises on the existing brand values: robustness; easiness; high performance – all with an aim at a profitable ploughing.

This new generation of Kverneland ploughs integrates innovations that were designed for the Kverneland 2500 i-Plough®. The latter received awards all over Europe in 2017. Hence, the new transport solution to maximise safety during transport and the new higher legs to optimise ploughing in any conditions.

Safer transport (TTS)

To maximise safety for the driver and for anyone or anything around, the plough behaves like a trailer. The pivot point of the tractor/plough is located in the middle. In curves, there is no tilting out.

This Trailer Transport Solution (TTS) remains optional.

Higher ploughing performance

Unique Aero-profile legs

To optimise ploughing in any conditions, the aero-profile design of the legs and the 80cm under-beam clearance improve the soil flow in high residues conditions.

These robust legs are pre-shaped to limit welding and hence weaknesses. As any Kverneland Auto-reset legs, these remain hollow so as to optimise the plough weight, pulling forces and hence fuel consumption.

Smart leaf spring system

They are easy to add or remove in order to adapt to specific release forces. This mechanical leg protection system already validated on the Kv 2500 i-Plough® is highly reliable and does not require any maintenance.

Unique skimmer adjustment

The central adjustment of the skimmers makes it handy.

Right and left working depth are adjustable simultaneously. This quick operation saves time while guaranteeing a perfect ploughing.

To adapt to any soil conditions, the angle of the skimmer is easily adjustable via one bolt only. Manure and maize skimmers plus trash boards are available.

Disc coulters, plain and notched in 18in (45cm) and 20in (50 cm), can equip any Kverneland ploughs.

Unique memory cylinder – depth wheel control

At headlands the ins and outs can be reduced to the minimum with the hydraulic wheel. The defined ploughing depth remains correct after reversal via the memory cylinder.

It bears lots of agronomic benefits: By limiting the triangles at headlands and hence their double ploughing, weeds are better controlled, the headlands are flatter and the seedbed is of a higher quality.

Frame and rear mounted wheels

Choose either a rear-mounted wheel for the best ploughing performance or a frame-mounted wheel to optimise the ploughed area. The latter is covered from 16in (10.0/75-15.3).

The frame-mounted wheel, available for five-furrow ploughs, can be used in combination with the Kverneland TTS or as a pure depth wheel.

The “Swivel“ movement of the wheels offers a smooth reversal for the best comfort of the driver. They are adjustable mechanically or hydraulically.

Kverneland new generation plough model naming

Kverneland’s new model names will apply to all new ploughs following the Kverneland 2500 i-Plough®. The higher the number, the more powerful the tractor can be. The three new models feature the Variomat® for easy ploughing working width changes from the tractor cabin.

Variomat® benefits

The Kverneland Variomat® system not only increases output but also saves time, fuel and money. Ploughing and trash burying performance improve too.

The Variomat® allows easy adjustments to the preferred working widths. This is easily done either mechanically or hydraulically. Depending on models, it can be adjusted from 30 to 55cm.

The Auto-line system guarantees the correct pulling line at any time. When changing the working width, both front furrow width and pulling line adjust accordingly, automatically.

The Kverneland Variomat® system is maintenance-free thanks to a unique non wearing linkage joint between the beams and the mainframe section

Kverneland 2300 S Variomat & Kverneland 3300 S Variomat

“Highly efficient reversible ploughs for medium to heavy soil conditions and modern tractors,” commented Per Arne Salvesen, senior product manager.

Both models offer the choice of inter-body clearance: 85 or 100cm. For extra agronomic benefits, the re-consolidation of the soil can be operated immediately via a Packer (+Kverneland Packer arm) or via the Packomat.

The latter does not affect the fuel consumption, which optimises the profitability. Carrying out two operations in one pass can only reach the same positive result.

The Kverneland 2300, three to five furrows, is recommended for tractors up to 240hp and the 3300 model, four to six furrows, is recommended up to 330hp.

Kverneland 3400 S & Kverneland 3400 S Variomat

The Kverneland 3400 models offer on-land / in-furrow ploughing – smart and fast, switching positions from the cabin. Easy turnover for this five to seven furrow plough resulting from the combined Kverneland design and Kverneland steel technology.

“The Kverneland 3400 models are ideal for modern farming and wide tractors up to 350hp with belts or wheels,” stated Arin Erga, product specialist and farmer. A Kverneland Packer arm can be added to complete the re-consolidation via a packer. Two operations in one for extra productivity.
