The 10th annual Macra na Feirme ‘Know Your Neighbour’ weekend will take place on July 25 and 26, 2015, with a national field day on July 18 to kick off the initiative.
Supported by Calor, the national field day is hosted by Freemount Macra in Co. Cork on the farm of Moses Roche.
The main attraction on the day will be a BBQ cooking demonstration with chef Catherin Fulvio from 1-3pm.
Macra President, Sean Finan, said that Macra would like to take this opportunity to get to its neighbours better and thank the communities in which they operate for their continued support.
“This event is open to everyone and we hope everyone will come along and get to know Macra better. We’re in our 10th year of Know Your Neighbour Weekend and events are taking place across the country – I am encouraging everyone to take the time to get to know their neighbour this summer,” he said.
This free event will take place from 1-4pm and will feature games, a bouncy castle, DJ, a BBQ and lots of family fun, Macra says.
Calor CEO, Tom O’Carroll, said that the weekend and national field day allow local communities, like Freemount, to gather together and reconnect with one another.
