The Association of Farm and Forestry Contractors in Ireland (FCI) has confirmed to its members that it will hold its 2020 AGM on Sunday, September 20, in the Killeshin Hotel, Portlaoise.

The AGM is scheduled to begin at 4:00pm. The association said that the meeting would adhere to the government guidelines on social distancing and maximum group gatherings at that time, as a result of the prevailing Covid-19 restrictions.

The notice of the meeting, as well as nomination forms for the election of officer positions, has been sent to the FCI’s contractor members.

The closing date for these nominations is September 1, 2020, either by email, post or WhatsApp photo messaging.

You must be a paid-up member of the FCI in order to make a nomination and to vote at the association’s ninth AGM.

However, the FCI said that “all those involved in farm and forestry contracting are welcome to attend the 2020 AGM”.

Tractor registrations

In machinery news, new tractor registrations have shown a recovery of late – with registrations for last month up 8% on July 2019, according to the Farm Tractor & Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA).

The latest figures issued by the FTMTA in relation to registrations of tractors over the period to the end of July 2020 “show somewhat of a recovery in the level of new tractor registrations following a difficult second quarter”, the association says.
