Farmers are being reminded to ensure they record their slurry movements and declare them before the end of the year.
The Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine has said that certain farmers and their agents must declare organic nutrient movements, including slurry movements, online.
The requirement to declare an internal movement only applies for the purposes of the following two nitrates measures:
In some cases, the same internal movement will meet the requirements of both measures.
These declaration must be made online using the new internal movement feature when declaring organic nutrient movements on the MyAgFood system or on the Organic Nutrient Movement App.
For an internal movement there is a need to enter the following information:
The LPIS parcels and their associated townland or townlands declared on the farmer’s 2026 Basic Income Support for Sustainability (BISS) will be available to select when declaring the movement.
The deadline for declaring an internal organic nutrient movement made in 2026 is December 31.
That will be followed by a significant change from January 1, 2027.
From that date, organic nutrient movements must be declared to the department online at MyAgFood, or on the organic movement app, within four days of the movement taking place.
