Trainee Pig Production Manager

There is a Trainee Pig Production Manager required for large unit in South Leinster/Irish Midlands with a family owned agribusiness for their 1,300-sow integrated birth to bacon unit.

They are seeking an energetic trainee manager to work with the current manager over the next two years with the intention of progressing to unit manager.

The successful applicant will work in every department over the first one to two years while operating the Pigsys programme in association with Teagasc.

There are nine full-time employees on this high performance unit and a computerised wet feed system. This is a challenging but rewarding role for an energetic, enthusiastic and self-motivated individual with excellent pig production, IT and interpersonal skills.

A good knowledge of large-scale pig production, animal health and nutrition is essential. The successful candidate is likely to have a good Agri education and a passion for pig production and an attractive remuneration package is on offer.
