Clear and sunny spells are expected across the country this weekend, as an area of high pressure passes over Ireland, according to Met Eireann.
Today, Friday, is set to be dry with some sunny spells; some areas are likely to enjoy periods of unbroken sunshine.
Temperatures are forecast to range from 9 to 13 degrees. It is set to be coolest along the east coast, in light to moderate northeasterly winds.
Remaining dry overnight, it is expected to turn rather cold with patches of frost and fog developing – with temperatures dropping to as low as -2 degrees.
There should be plenty of opportunities for spraying over the next number of days and drying conditions should remain quite good, it added.
Tomorrow
Tomorrow, Saturday, is likely to remain dry with some sunny spells. Temperatures are set to range from 12 to 16 degrees, in light breezes.
It is expected to be slightly cooler along the east coast, 9 or 10 degrees, in a moderate northeast wind.
Conditions are forecast to remain dry and clear, with light easterly winds, on Saturday night.
Lowest air temperatures of between 1 and 3 degrees are likely; these could fall to 0 or -1 in some rural areas with a sharp ground frost.
Sunday
A dry, fine and mostly sunny day is forecast on Sunday.
Meanwhile, temperatures are set to reach the mid-teens in light easterly breezes. It will be cooler along the east coast and on windward slopes, according to Met Eireann.
It is expected to be dry on Sunday night with clear spells and light breezes, while temperatures will range from 3 to 6 degrees.
Monday
On Monday, it is forecast to be cloudy in the southwest with patchy rain likely. However, another dry day with sunny spells is expected to prevail.
Highest temperatures of 13 to 15 degrees are likely, with it being slightly cooler in the east and southeast.
Outlook
Early indications suggest that temperatures will reach the low to mid-teens in fresh southerly winds on both Tuesday and Wednesday.
Some scattered showers are expected, but it is set to remain mostly dry with some sunny spells.
