Agri-Environmental Consultant

OCAE is currently seeking applications from agricultural and environmental science graduates to work as an agri-environmental consultant.

The successful candidate will be required to provide consultancy to farmer clients in the areas of Basic Payment Scheme applications, nitrates compliance, nutrient management and GLAS planning – among other roles.

Currently, Agrihealth is in the market for a business development graduate.

The position requires a person to assist in developing sales and marketing initiatives, as well as new distribution channels for nutritional and hygiene brands across intensive livestock sectors.

Those applying should have a relevant qualification in Agricultural/Animal Science, with a focus on the animal husbandry and/or nutrition areas.

Mechanical design engineer

Hi-Spec Engineering – a manufacturer of machinery for the agricultural and industrial sectors – is in the market for a mechanical design engineer.

The role is broad and involves a hands-on approach, as well as producing detailed drawings and liaising with customers.

Among the ideal attributes, the right person for the job should have experience in the agricultural machinery industry and diploma or degree-level education in Mechanical Engineering.

Meanwhile, Costello Transport in Co. Laois is looking to hire a tractor driver.

Those interested in applying must have experience along with a full, clean licence.

Operations and sales manager

John Deere dealer Meath Farm Machinery is looking to recruit an ambitious and experienced operations and sales manager to take on a wide remit of responsibility.

The role will involve maintaining a close working relationship with the company’s principal franchises, developing retail business and adding value to the customer experience.

Evidence of commercial success and team leadership in a related role would be beneficial to applicants.

Local farming knowledge would be considered favourably, as would a business or agri-business related degree – but, neither are essential. The deadline for applications closes on March 9.

Agricultural sales person

The business is looking to recruit an agricultural sales person to its growing team.

Working across the south-east, this position covers Claas and other franchises, with a particular focus on tractors and tillage equipment.

Existing sales experience is necessary and a good knowledge of current machines and trends in the marketplace are important qualities for the position.

Service engineer

A service engineer is also being sought. Covering the south-east, the successful candidate will service and repair the full range of tractors.

Regular, ongoing training will be provided at the new Claas Academy in the UK. Laptop and diagnostic equipment will be provided. Applicants are all required to be team players.

Applicants will be expected to work at weekends as seasons necessitate, in return for an “excellent remuneration package”.

A mobile service engineer (CLAAS) will be hired as part of the expansion.

This position will involve covering a large area to service and repair the complete range of Claas foragers and combines.

Ongoing, regular training will be provided at the new Claas Academy in the UK. Similarly, laptop and diagnostic equipment will be provided.
