The streets of Monaghan Town, from Church Square to the Diamond, will once again be filled with the aromas of freshly prepared food this summer.

The annual Street Food Fest will transform the town centre in a colourful celebration of flavour, creativity, music, and community spirit on Saturday, August 15.

​Street Food Fest is a showcase of the very best in local food culture, bringing together talented chefs, passionate food producers, artisan makers, and creative traders from across the region and beyond.

From authentic Irish favourites and slow-cooked comfort food to bold international flavours and inventive fusion dishes, the aim is to tempt every taste bud.

Silver Hill Duck, which is based at Emyvale, was one of the dishes on last year's menu.

The event, which was originally held in a marque in the local shopping centre, moved onto the street in 2019.

​Approximately 6,000 people are expected for this year's edition.

They will be able to wander through food stalls, discover handcrafted treats, sample locally produced ingredients, and enjoy everything from freshly baked breads and artisan cheeses to indulgent desserts and street food favourites.

Live cooking demonstrations and food experiences will offer a behind the scenes taste of culinary creativity, while live music and family entertainment create a festival ambience that fills the town from morning until evening.

​Beyond the food, Street Food Fest is also a celebration of Monaghan’s culture, creativity, and hospitality.

Local artists, crafters, and makers will showcase handmade goods, unusual gifts, and artisan products, adding even more colour and character to the festival experience.

60 guests will be welcomed back for the second annual long table dinner on the evening before the festival.

The special dining experience brings people together around one spectacular shared table for a memorable night of food, local flavours and conversation.

​The organisers said: "More than just a food festival, Street Food Fest is a gathering of people, stories, flavours, and traditions.

"It’s a celebration of summer in Monaghan, where friends, families, visitors, and exhibitors come together to enjoy the very best the county has to offer."
