Sales consultant positions

Animal Health Vision (AHV) is looking to fill sales consultant positions in a number of locations.

The available locations are: north Connacht; south Kerry; west Limerick; north Cork; and Kilkenny.

The job will entail: providing advice and guidance to customers; maintaining established accounts and ensuring ongoing business delivery; and achieving all revenue and client retention targets.

The successful candidate will require a third-level education – preferably in agriculture – as well as previous sales experience.

2 positions at Coolmore Stud

Coolmore Stud in Co. Tipperary is seeking two energetic and hardworking individuals to join its summer/autumn team.

The two positions are for fixed-term contracts from June to mid-October.

Duties will include: silage; hay/straw raking and carting; operating chaser bin; and primary and secondary cultivation.

The candidate should have a full, clean driving licence and experience in large machinery.

Livestock inspector

The Certified Irish Angus Producers Group is seeking to recruit a livestock inspector.

This will be on a part-time basis in the meat plants of the group’s processing partners – Slaney Foods, ABP and Kepak.

Responsibilities will include: inspection of livestock prior to slaughter; implementation of the group’s livestock policy, and production of reports of inspectors.

The ideal candidate will have an excellent knowledge of livestock and be computer literate.

Forestry representative

SWS Forestry is looking to recruit a forestry representative for Co. Clare.

Candidates will ideally have a background in agriculture or forestry; and have good geographical knowledge and strong interpersonal skills.

The role will involve: building relationships and business; growing existing customer relationships; and carrying out forestry inspections and evaluating forest projects.

Positions at Progressive Genetics

Progressive Genetics has a couple of opportunities going; the business is looking to fill two roles – a marketing and operations executive and a milk recording manager.

The marketing and operations executive position will be based in Enfield, Co. Meath.

The successful candidate should have broad farming experience and a massive interest in all aspects of cattle breeding. Experience or qualifications in marketing, sales or agriculture would be an advantage but not strictly necessary.

The milk recording manager role will also be based at Enfield, Co. Meath.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, among other things, managing and growing the customer base; managing the delivery of the milk recording service; and providing technical support to customers.

Applicants for this positions should have an agricultural science degree or equivalent; and have an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of best farming practice.

Commercial manager

The Farm Tractor and Machinery Trade Association (FTMTA) is looking to hire a commercial manager to be based in Naas, Co. Kildare.

Responsibilities will include: working closely with the association’s president and management team; providing management information and value-added analysis; and working with the various sub-committees.

The suitable candidate will have extensive knowledge and awareness of the agricultural sector, with a strong background in business and an awareness of agricultural machinery.

Roles at Munster Bovine

Munster Bovine is currently seeking an EDIY technician for Co. Galway and milk recorders for Co. Clare.

The EDIY technician role will involve delivering recording equipment to DIY farmers within the Galway area; uploading and downloading of data; and providing professional training and support to DIY farmers.

The ideal candidate will have: knowledge of the dairy industry; a full clean driving license; and basic IT skills.

Munster Bovine is also seeking part-time flexible independent contractors in the Doonbeg, Kilkee and Kilrush areas of Co. Clare.

The purpose of these roles is to visit the herd owner at milking time both morning and evening; record the volume of milk for each cow; and take a sample for analysis.

Applicants for this role must have: a full, clean driving licence and their own transport; basic IT skills; a friendly and outgoing manner; and attention to detail.

Senior agricultural assistant

Applications are being invited for the role of senior agricultural assistant at UCD Lyons Farm.

The appointee will report to the farm manager. Day-to-day duties will include: general farm maintenance; care and feeding of livestock across a range of enterprises; assisting with research and teaching activities; assisting with tillage operations; and some machinery operation.

This is a temporary 3-year role.
