Macra na Feirme is encouraging farmers to complete a fodder census and also to complete a fodder budget for their own farm based on guidelines available from Teagasc.
An inter-agency committee of which Macra is a member was established to deal with Ireland’s fodder crisis. An idea was to complete a fodder census to assess the national and regional fodder situation.
The census will be open for completion until 6 September for farmers to give a realistic assessment of their own farm fodder situation.
