The weather this weekend will be mostly cloudy with some rain and drizzle at first. However, clearer, cooler and sunnier conditions are set to develop next week, Met Éireann has said.
It will be mostly cloudy today (Friday, November 8), with occasional rain and drizzle, mainly in the west and south, which will be persistent at times in the southwest. There will be a few patches of mist and hill fog too.
Highest temperatures today will be 12° to 15° with light to moderate southeasterly winds, fresher near Atlantic coasts.
Mostly cloudy conditions will persist tonight, although a few clearer breaks will occur too. Patchy rain, drizzle, mist and fog will be most widespread in Munster. Lowest temperatures will be 7° to 11° in light to moderate southeasterly winds.
Tomorrow (Saturday, November 9) will be another mostly cloudy day with a few patches of light rain or drizzle along with some hill and coastal mist and fog. Some limited bright or sunny spells will occur too.
More persistent rain will develop in the west and southwest later tomorrow afternoon and evening. Highest temperatures will be 12° to 16° in light to moderate southeast winds, fresher at times along Atlantic coasts.
Tomorrow night will see often cloudy weather with outbreaks of rain and drizzle. A clearance to mainly dry and cooler conditions will push into western and northwestern coastal counties towards morning. Lowest temperatures will be 9° to 13° with light to moderate southerly winds, veering westerly with the clearance.
It will be damp and mostly cloudy in the east to begin on Sunday (November 10) with scattered outbreaks of rain and drizzle. Drier, brighter and cooler conditions in the west will gradually extend countrywide in the afternoon. After a mild and humid start in the east, it will turn fresher with the clearance. Afternoon highs should be 12° to 15° in mainly light westerly breezes.
Sunday night is set to be dry with variable cloud and clear spells. It will be colder than recent nights, with lowest temperatures of 3° to 7° in a light westerly or variable breeze with a few patches of mist and fog forming around dawn.
Monday (November 11) will be a dry day with a mix of cloud and sunshine. Highest temperatures are expected to be 10° to 12° in light, variable breezes.
Monday night will continue with dry weather but with a mix of cloud and clear spells. Lowest temperatures will be 2° to 6°, in light northwest or variable breezes, with areas of mist and fog thickening towards dawn, and a touch of frost possible too.
Tuesday (November 12) will be dry with a mix of cloud and sunny spells for many, with just the chance of isolated showers. Highest temperatures will be 9° to 12°, with light westerly or variable breezes.
