A total of 243,000 people have attended the 2026 National Ploughing Championships.

The National Ploughing Association (NPA) confirmed that 75,000 attended the third day of the event today (Thursday, September 17) at Screggan, Tullamore, Co. Offaly.

This adds to the 77,000 who attended on Tuesday and 91,000 who attended on Wednesday.

The total attendance over the three days is an increase on the 225,500 that attended last year's Ploughing.

It was an action-packed event this year, with visitors enjoying a programme full of ploughing, livestock, food, fashion and entertainment.

President Catherine Connolly officially opened the 95th National Ploughing Championships on Tuesday, which marked the beginning of the event celebrating the very best of Irish agriculture, enterprise and rural life.

Agriland this afternoon concluded its coverage of the event on our livestream, which ran from 12:00pm to 3:00p.m everyday.

Over the course of the three days, Agriland interviewed a number of political guests including Commissioner for Agriculture Christophe Hansen, Taoiseach Micheál Martin, Tánaiste Simon Harris, Minister for Agriculture Martin Heydon, and MEPs and TDs.

Agriland spoke to a wide range of industry experts and farm representatives, and the team was out and about meeting exhibitors and farmers who travelled from across the country to be in Screggan.

The topics discussed over the three days ranged from Budget 2027 and the Common Agricultural Policy, to farm safety and biomethane.

We were also out in the fields meeting ploughing competitors and judges, and talking to those involved in the machinery trade about what trends they are seeing amongst customers.

The event was made even better by good weather conditions across the three days.
