The Irish Angus Cattle Society is set to hold Ireland’s Top Pedigree Angus Elite Sale – a prestigious event in the agricultural calendar, which will be held on December 7 at the Showgrounds, Carrick-on-Shannon, Co. Roscommon, attracting cattle breeders and enthusiasts from across the country and beyond.

This show starts at 9:00a.m and the sale will kick off at 12:00 noon, with the finest pedigree Angus cattle, renowned for their superior genetics, quality, and performance traits, on display.

Buyers at the event have the opportunity to acquire top-tier breeding stock, which can enhance their herds and improve productivity.

The sale not only highlights the best in Angus breeding, but also serves as a platform for breeders to network and exchange knowledge about the latest advancements in cattle genetics and husbandry.

Top Pedigree Angus Elite Sale

The event underscores Ireland’s commitment to excellence in livestock breeding and contributes significantly to the reputation of Irish cattle on the international stage.

All bull entries are genotyped export-tested and semen-tested, sire-verified, exhibitor-bred, myostatin-tested and pre-sale inspected.

All heifer entries are genotyped export-tested, sire-verified, exhibitor-bred, myostatin-tested and pre-sale inspected.

48 bulls and 45 heifers will be offered for this sale, ensuring that there will be something for everyone – dairy, pedigree and suckler buyers alike.  

Throughout the year, most of the cattle entered have been show winners. The powerful genetics and quality of cattle which will be showcased and later offered for sale are superior to say the least.

Registration for the New Traces System is required. This enables the export of animals on the day of sale.

The Elite Catalogue

The catalogue for this impressive line-up of bulls and heifers will be available on the Irish Angus Cattle Society website, or by contacting the office on 00353 71 96 20253.

The society is also making a number of premiums available to the purchasers of bulls and heifers as all purchasers of animals at €3000, or over will go into a draw for two €400 premiums one for bull buyers and one for heifer buyers.

Another two further €200 voucher premiums for the purchasers of the Top Price Bull & Top Price Heifer Sponsored by Coneyisland Genetics (Brendan Regan).

On-line bidding

This sale at Carrick-on-Shannon will commence at 12:00p.m sharp on Saturday, December 7th.

A Pre-Sale Show will take place on the Saturday morning, starting at 9.00a.m.
