Retail giant Musgrave Group has confirmed that it will no longer be selling whiskey and stout brands associated with Conor McGregor.

On Friday (November 22), a High Court jury found that McGregor had assaulted Nikita Hand by raping her in the penthouse suite of the Beacon Hotel in Dublin in December 2018.

Following over six hours of deliberations, the jury came to its decision and awarded Nikita Hand up to €250,000 in damages.

Conor McGregor has already stated that he intends to appeal the verdict in the civil case taken against him by Nikita Hand.

In the wake of the outcome of the trial, retailers across Ireland were urged to stop stocking the whiskey and stout brands linked to the mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter.

Cliona Saidlear, executive director of Rape Crisis Network Ireland, called on shops to boycott Forged Stout and Proper No 12 Whiskey.

Although, McGregor sold his stake in the brands in recent years, he continues to promote them on his social media channels.

The Musgrave retail group has now confirmed that it is delisting the whiskey and stout from its outlets which include the SuperValu, Centra, Mace and Daybreak brands.

Store managers have been informed to remove the whiskey and stout from store shelves and to return the products.

“Musgrave can confirm these products are no longer available to our store network,” a spokesperson for Musgrave told Agriland.

The Barry Group, which operates Costcutter and Carry Out off-licence outlets, has also announced that it has decided to remove both Proper Twelve and Forged Stout from its network.
